I think what you'll find is the Baker IDI's research is based on newly diagnosed T1D. Adolescents with still functioning beta cells.
When I look at the recruitment criteria, it's pretty strict for these individuals.
Long term T1D patients are still stuck.
I imagine the work Dr Coates has been doing with BTM for T1D, is beneficial for a wider audience.
