No idea. But having talked to surgeons, my understanding is that they are more likely to try drugs and devices adapted from established products for different uses, than that of a new product from a completely new technology.

They also have access to more information and can also ask colleagues about their experiences as well. This is different to when BTM was launched and no one knew what the heck NovoSorb was.

If they can access information knowing that NovoSorb has been well received by a range of patients, even if it was for a different surgery, the take up rate can be expected to be higher.

Yes, surgeons can specialiase in certain procedures but it's not like the guys doing hernia surgeries have their own clique that precludes them from talking to the docs doing other surgeries.
