The story of the remarkable recovery of the Adelaide burns victim who suffered 95% burn injuries has been picked up with interest by Indian media.
Of the estimated 7 million burn injuries in India annually, ~ 1 million are moderate to severe, ~ 700,000 require hospitalization (this compares with ~ 40,000 in the US) and ~140,000 are fatal.
BTM was approved for sale in India last November and is being distributed under the trademark of NovoDerm through Myovatec Surgical Systems Pvt Ltd.
