Had a little discussion today with a breast care clinical nurse consultant at a private hospital in Brisbane; anecdotal yes but still interesting. We discussed how the current standard of care in breast reconstructive surgery post mastectomy involves surgical mesh use and how one of the biggest complications from this procedure is infection leading to further debridement and surgery, obviously to an inherently high cost to the health care system. It seems evident there is already a place for BTM in this market given how we know the synthetic nature of our product has minimal infection risks.
Really excited for the next chapter of this company as we move into breast reconstructions as well.
