Actually I'm agreeing with you there...
and also with the surgical decision to temporarily remove the BTM in selected areas in the face of mucormycosis infection. That doesn't detract from whats really a very good result in such terrible burn cases and shows just how good the product is. It didn't need to be removed even with the presence of other microbial pathogens and healing went well. In a head to head comparison with Integra dermal substitute, it seems PNV have a winner.
I'm also saying though that based on the results of patient 1, it seems as though perhaps they should have used BTM earlier on the facial burns for patient 2 to avoid the formation of contractures. They pointed to a delay in consent as being a reason.
