I wish I had copied & pasted my initial post which didnt work. So starting again...the chaos, congestion & backlog at Sydney's St Vincents Hospital is a major problem. Ambos have to stay by the stretcher till you finally get a bed which is at least 2 hours. They have already done the ECG but by the time they take your blood for the troponin, the turnaround is 2 hours. After which u still have to repeat the test 4-6 hours after the first. The ambos are held up for up to 3 hours till u get a bed & therefore are off the road not able to attend to others. They do more for you in the ambulance than the drs do for at least 2 hours they are so busy. This machine would significantly reduce the congestion and chaos at an ED. this would be a huge lifesaver especially if other tests could be performed at the same time.
