Long explanation:
Reading/viewing the Magnatech technology it has dried reagents. Which means that the only liquid in the cartridge is plasma. Normally, all the non-target analytes (read here all the other proteins or other chemicals in plasma other than the one you are trying to measure) become minor players in the total reaction because a small volume of serum is used and then diluted in a much larger volume of reaction fluid which would include buffers and reagents. BECAUSE POC1 uses pure plasma as the only fluid, all those non-targeted proteins are much more concentrated and become much stronger players in the reaction.

So heterophiles and other interfering substances are much more difficult to manage.

Therefore, unlike your standard lab tests where the Doc gets suspicious or the lab tech notices significant hemolysis, lipemia or icterus, POC1 could reasonably expect to see a much higher incidence of problematic samples because all the POC1 technology must operate not in a reagent/buffer system friendly to the reagents but in plasma where all the naughty bits live in full in vivo concentrations.

So if/when Anteo scientists can modify the POC1 cartridge to somehow collect these interfering substances before they reach the main reacting/detecting surfaces, it will be another BigWin for Mix&Go.
