    Production rate is not the "Reserve", which along with "After Tax Profit" is the only yardstick for a realistic "Market Cap".

    Now if the reserves are decreasing and the costs increasing then yes the "Market Cap" will obviously be effected.

    As can be seen with the CVN annual report the money is in the bank.

    Production rate is just day trader fodder.

    Wells are so cheap if you want more production drill more wells into your reserve rather than wildcat exploration.
