Glen Archer - thanks for the Cu comments. TP stated that the long term demand, out to 2020 for Cu will outstrip supply and that the world will be reacting to that for several years before this time. Maybe that is in the RIO data somewhere too.
My comment to him was on electric cars - as per a discussion with a client the other day. He wss right IMO - where is all the copper going to come from for the motors? China has no resistance to electric cars and are leading the way - 60% of respondents suggested they would buy one. They are choking and looking for a way to clean up the air.
The battery materials (metals) are worth looking at again also if this is the case. Maybe this electric car acceptance is going to be higher than many suspect - and this market becomes a great source of demand to keep Cu bid.
