I think the Australian political scene stinks, it seems the parties on both sides are just there to protect their position and their super. But I also think that given the Minerals resources in this country and the primary industries the country is pretty much on auto pilot for solid balance of trade figures. They can spend a few billion here and there but Australia is pretty solid and this is reflected in the strength of the Australian dollar. I think about the only thing on the horizon to change that is if the government decides to devalue the dollar to increase export earnings. They did it once that I know of back in the 1970's I think it was.
Our banks are in good shape and the Ausy dollar is a safe haven currency and our unemployment is at about 5%.
