IndEx funds probably use bot trading these days. Set and forget. The bot regularly adjusting the portfolio. One explanation for so many tiny unexplainable trades across many companies.
Automatic index tacking.. Big funds like Vanguard and State Street, would save a lot money automating their Many index funds.
From memory their are only about 3 big wholesale funds operating here.
