The adhesive dressing (with the active matrix in the centre) is a commonly used dressing in hospitals and runs under the name 'tegaderm'. It sticks well and is very non-irritant, cheap, and comes in a variety of sizes. As long as you don't get it too wet, or sweat too much under it it should be able to stay on for a good number of days without too much trouble.

Using more adhesive tape around the edges does help (eg hyperfix), but tends to be more irritating especially after a couple of days.

Tegaderm is probably one of the better ones to use. The alternative would be something such as 'Opsite 3M'
