Hi Downanout,
I live in rural Australia and have the NBN satellite service - more correctly labelled lack-of-service.
It is often unavailable, frequently extremely slow and constant emails arrive telling us that NBN Co is doing maintenance and our service will be off-line for short intervals. If we only had the scheduled maintenance interruptions then the service would be worth the $200/month we pay. As it is we can't use our allocation in a month because it is so slow that we are forced to use our old wireless broadband connection which costs us another $100/month as a backup - this so we can do our business banking etc.
Skymesh is our provider, they were promoted as the best carrier because they answered their telephones with English speaking Australian based people. I can't get them to answer their phones at all and they will not reply to my email complaints.
The big telcos do not want to play in the nbn satellite area as they have their own systems to promote.
Feeling much like your tag when it comes to NBN.
