how have you been playing pocket aces in the various positions? don't over value them. they are just a pair at the end of the day. your strength is pre flop; post flop anything can happen... and if you have been slow playing them then you can get into a lot of trouble, and deservedly so. you want to be in the pot with one... MAYBE two other players. any more and your chances of winning, even with aces, are not good enough.
also, sounds a lot to me like you are simply playing your own hand, which is incorrect. play your opponents hand!
