Nuttsie, let's get things in perspective, if only even just slightly!....lol

Let's assume that the Coalition had won the last election, do you really think Australia would have....

    (1) avoided the recession that we are currently experiencing?

    (2) avoided going into substantial debt during this extremely serious global economic downturn?

Just to help you out....the simple answer to each question is "NO".....lol

So all that we have to argue about/debate is the 'extent' of the debt.

Personally, I didn't agree with the $20bn handouts, but the undeniable fact is that the stimulus provided by that strategy, as silly and kneejerk as it may have seemed, is not entirely futile. Far from it.

If the Coalition was in power at the moment, Australia, in 3 years, would've ended up in much the same debt situation as what it will under Labor.

You can go on kidding yourselves, ignoring facts and exaggerating. Sure it helps you retain your born to rule beliefs. But as silly as you may think most Australians are, they are obviously much brighter than most of you guys, because they are willing to accept the reality of the situation.

You would be much happier if John Howard was still in power. The majority of Australians are happy that he's gone....no matter what.

I believe that the strength of Rudd's polling at the moment is as much an ongoing rejection of Howard and his government, as it is an acceptance of Rudd. The polls for the opposition will improve as the memory of the previous government fades. At the moment, most Australians shudder from the memory.
