Crazymark and family do not use pokies, however we did go to the local club last night. Had a very decent meal and some cheap drinks, effectively subsidised by those individuals that do use pokies. The tax handouts have provided a very useful boost to the local clubs in these dire times.
Personally I would have preferred more infrastructure spending, but I have to agree with Dave R that putting the money into pokies keeps the money in Aus - it goes to the Government as tax and the local clubs so they can keep employing people.
