After studying Portman's Dec. quarterly, I believe there are several clues to forthcoming developments which will benefit Polaris.

As noted by Fisho in thread "timely summary", Portman have stated under heading "Koolynobbing Project" the following:

"Portman and Polaris have reached an in principle agreement in connection with Bungalbin tenements, AS WELL AS IN TERMS OF TENEMENT RATIONALISATION BETWEEN US."

The quarterly also states that Portman is planning a major increase in its exploration expenditure up to $A45M over the period 2008-2010.

They also state "Portman is also actively studying a number of expansion options in the Koolynobbing region...Any significant expansion of the Koolynobbing project will be HEAVILY dependent on exploration ACCESS and success." Hmm... Looking at Pol tenements?

Again referring to Fisho's thread "timely summary", it is very apparent that Polaris controls much more ground in the region than Portman, much of which is bordering or near Portmans own tenements and operating mines. Portman is clearly looking at Polaris' prime real estate with envious eyes.

Also note that Portman states under Koolynobbing heading "Tonnage sold for the year was 7.47 MT."

If Portman can achieve that with their short-sighted management, I feel that my confidence in the ability of the current management at Polaris to achieve equal or better results is well placed.

Polaris, at a fraction of the market cap of Portman, AND very promising tenements in the Pilbara region as well, is overdue to be rerated.
