Agree, alcohol is one of the worst addictive substances.. and there are plenty of people who get addicted to prescribed drugs.
Addictive things deny us freedom, destroy us and the really destructive, addictive ones cause heartache all around and down the line.
EDUCATION, prevention is way better than cure.... what we put into our bodies is so important..... it's "Buyer Beware"...
Whether legal or illegal, many drugs will destroy us if we take them.... addicted people are one hell of a "captive market"..... they make SOME, LOTS of money, give SOME, LOTS of control.
It's "Buyer Beware"..... BUT, live in a street with a drug lab or live in a house next to someone on amphetamines screaming away, punching holes in a wall... knowing that SOME don't care one bit what they do to people to make money...
TOO MANY GOOD PEOPLE have to PAY for the addicted's carnage.
Yeah, the big pharmacuetical companies would love to sell us copious quantities of dexies for our "ADHD" affected, pills for depression, pills for cholesterol, etc, etc..... the PBS costs our society immensely..... and yes, there are many viable, healthy alternatives that GOOD doctors will tell you about.
Many Societies are rotting from within and drugs are a big part of it....
Russia has many heroin addicts, the heroin comes cheiefly from Afghanistan.... I think our SAS might be better deployed at home sorting out the big wheelers and dealers in the illegal drug trade.... of course, just like Vietnam, we have to worry that some of our returning troops will bring home some nasty drug habits...
For those that overcome drug addiction, good on them.... but hey, let's face it we have a HUGE problem with illegal drugs (as well as legal ones).... and something drastic has to be done to save our society, save our kids...
Drugs destroy some empires and make other ones flourish... better to avoid drugs altogether.
