As with any market, the rules of supply and demand follow as sure as night follows day.

We are now seeing in Mexico the result of demand for illicit drugs in the USA. Impoverished Mexico and their criminal gangs have infiltrated the police, politicians and the judiciary. The Mexican drug cartels carry heavy weapons and are ruthless.

If we are not careful, Australia could fall into a similar trap although our standard of living here should restrict this insidious trade somewhat in comparison to the Mexican experience.

Notwithstanding this, the trade in Methamphetamines in particular is causing huge problems here in Australia and I see this trade and use by the average punter as the biggest challenge facing law enforcement in this country.
