It's just revenue raising....nothing more! The fact of the matter is the average joe blo has become safer and more responsible through speed cameras and awareness campaigns. So much better that the pockets of the local government is starting to feel pinch. This was so blatant obvious when private mobile cameras were employed by the RTA creating an uproar with the local police. This money is supposedly used by the RTA to pay for road repairs and upgrades. Looking at our local roads...I don't think so.
Expect them to become even more creative.
Gotta love Australia.....the country of taxes and creative revenue raising.
