Had an elderly patient in for review of a total hip replacement due to Polio deformities. Anyway long story short, she was unfortunately diagnosed with Polio as she was born before the vaccine became available. Now do you know what I find really strange? Her kids don't have Polio because they were vaccinated! I know, I know, crazy isn't it.
Sometimes I wish I could bring people in to see the real effects of their choices and how some people who are dealing with these dreadful diseases have had their quality of life impacted.
