I agree. Coal is not disappearing for years. The need for the technology to reduce emissions is essential. Eg. Indias smog is of extreme concern. "Cleaner coal" scares the majority cos they see all coal as dirty and polluting and still so even if it's "cleaner". Unfortunately the proof is in the pudding. Coal has been a dirty polluter. But The world's heavy manufacturing industries need the power that is derived from coal. Renewable energy won't cater for the main infrastructures such as steel making and blast furnaces and so on. Not for many years. All my opinion
