Not long home. Been at work all day. Got the breaking Barnaby news whilst driving.
There is way too much HC content on this news to read, so apols if this has been discussed previously.
My sniffometer suggests Barnaby might have been stiffed over the WA leak.
A week or so ago senior NP colleagues (in WA I think) said they stood behind Barnaby provided there were no more skeletons. I remember thinking at the time that sounded like a set up.
Next, the WA Branch (who have no members in Canberra) passed a vote of no confidence in Barnaby.
Next there is rumour of a non NP high profile female reported to be citing inappropriate behaviour from Barnaby.
Trial by media begins. The female involved is livid because she never gave the WA NP permission to release (leak) any details ... she didn’t want to go public ... the WA Party clearly had an agenda.
Barnaby has referred matters to the police and possibly the WA female is feeling queasy about an investigation and the prospect of defamation.
We may not have seen the last of the political career of Barnaby imo.
