No one can stay in power for 28 years in any democratic country. It tells me that the president was enough power to control election results. Just look at the percentage of votes he has obtained in elections specialy after so long in power. Such a long tenure is not conjusive to good government and not healthy for the political stability into the future. Are so many of the people so content with Paul Birya and their own standard of living that they keep voting him back in. I think not. I wonder how he will lose office. Just my thoughts.
