    Utopia (Thomas More 1478-1535)

There's an excellent precision of the book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_%28book%29

I read it twice over in earlier years. my more recent attempt (2 years go) left me frustrated due to the impenetrable first Book. Its not an easy read, very dry.... yet this may have been the translation I have.

Book 2 gives the main argument on a society which addresses problematic issues of greed, theft, usury and many other "sins" by not having a medium of exchange. Even Gold and jewels are de-valued by giving infants jewels to play with, thus making such pretty things "childish" and golden chains are used to encumber thieves so they come to see how possessions tie one down and limit freedom.

    Fascinating concepts.
