directors look after the corporate side of things like raising capital, promoting the business, governance, legal issues, financial planning, etc

managers & CEO DT will look after the technical/mining side of things

mate, it's called specialization and division of labour! If the directors were experts in running & developing mines, then that's what they would be doing. JB has a degree in mine engineering too! ("He is a qualified mining engineer with operating experience in Canada, South Africa, and Australia")
