I throw this out there for comment.
With all the machinations about carbon trading, CO2 emissions, uranium yatta yatta ... why on earth cant one savvy political party or politician announce an initiative to fuel any required additional electrical generating capacity with coal bed methane (or other natural gas).
There would be an IMMEDIATE 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to coal fired power generation. There could also be a program to replace aging, inefficient belching coal fired power stations with new gas fired ones.
This initiative doesnt reguire the political gymnastics and navel gazing associated with open slather on uranium and can come into effect almost immediately, unlike uranium which will be stuck in a political vortex for at least a decade imo.
