and how would building a nuke power plant effect the current gas shortage?
it would take at least 3 years to the next election to abandon the moratorium on nuclear energy, then another 3 years of planning. and environmental and other approvals, and another 3 years to get the required land to be socially accepted (at least 3 years)....
then if all goes well, 12 months for a tender to be completed. next 12 months for planning. another 12 months of haggling over local council approvals (at the very minimum... these can go on for a decade) then at least 5 years to build and commission.
we are looking at at the minimum 15 years from gaining a degree of agreement between Fed and States to begin the above details and to completion.
