You can always put the politics forum on ignore, KBJ.
You can TOU any posts that you feel are outside the guidelines of HC. However, I think the politics forum is well moderated while still giving people freedom of speech.
Or you can put any posters you don't feel have anything worthwhile to offer on ignore - that one works for me!
Of course, there is intensity of opinion with only a few days before an election but that doesn't mean it is vile.
