The politics forum is extemely important imho.
Politics, love it or loathe it, has an affect on everyone and every business.
It is a shame that there are extreme views out there.
Some of it is a manifestation of the current government's waste.
It's a bit rich to blow billions on failed schemes then tax the "high" income earners with a levy the first time we have a serious flooding event.
And a lot of people have genuine fear we are losing control of our borders, and the costs associated with patrolling and controlling the recent upsurge in illegal arrivals.
Both Liberal and Labor have failed to serve the people well, they promise the world at election time and then go about their agenda afterwards without much care to the people that elected them.
Australia is a rich country and in the main I believe we are very generous, but there is a feeling out here in punter land we're being taken for a ride, and our way of life is being threatened.
I blame the politicians again for not being honest and forthright in explaining in plain terms what the long term goals for our country are, what our immigration policy is trying to achieve and what the long term population and demographic mix is going to be.
If they did that, more people would be informed and be able to comment and make their feelings known based on facts not fear or misinformation which comes out on all sides.
