My take on a vocational role for a politician is one with an altruistic and genuine passion and commitment for the improvement of society and his or her constituents.
Not some two bit hack that would never dream of earning the salary that some politicians get to today in the real world and ego driven hypocrites that make decisions on self interest and self interest only.
Surely there are intellectuals and altruists in our population that fit this criteria.
