Time to stop clutching at straws CSGguy! We all know Chuck Yeagar has said there's ample gas in Bass Strait to provide supply to the East Coast for decades, or isn't he of sufficient stature in the industry to have an opinion?

Now, on to the politifact piece ...

Alan Randall, Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Sydney

This guy doesn't sound like someone with no background, at least in Resource Economics, and given that is what is being discussed, he sounds suitably qualified to venture an opinion.

Program Director for Energy at the non-partisan, centrist Grattan Institute, Tony Wood, spoke to us about their newly released report, Getting Gas Right.

Perhaps this is who you mean by saying politifact were using "those with only the faintest understanding of an industry". Now, a quick check gives this information:

"Tony has deep experience in the energy sector. He worked at Origin Energy for 11 years, and was an adviser to the first Garnaut climate change review. He is also program director of Clean Energy Projects at the Clinton Foundation.

Which of these people are you suggesting has "only the faintest understanding of an industry"?
