This is the fourth Essential poll in a row since the election that shows Labor
leading and this week the lead jumped one point to 52/48.
Given Labor fell just shy of 50% at the election a 52% result would have
provided a comfortable seat margin to Labor.
Also, bad news for the Trump worshippers who appear to be concentrated
on this forum as the poll also showed:
7% think that the election of Donald Trump as US President would make our relationship with the US better and 63% think it would be worse. 21% think it would make no difference.
A majority of all voter groups thought that the election of Donald Trump would make our relationship worse.
24% think that the election of Hillary Clinton as US President would make our relationship with the US better and 13% think it would be worse. 54% think it would make no difference. The views of Liberal/National voters and Labor voters were similar.

Just goes to prove there's a chunk of voters out there that when it comes to the crunch at election time they choose the coalition but when it comes to phone polls they're happy to let em avit.
