Funny I thougt hopperites would be (greedily) supportive based on:

- Most on here seem focused on small caps and juniors
- Juniors may actually be better off under the new tax (with exploration consessions)
- Biggest effect is on majors that earn mega $(BHP , Rio etc) so it will make juniors comparitively more attractive than they were
- If majors carry out their threats to shelve new expansion projects = less supply = higher commodity prices, again helping the juniors.

Anyway I am broadly supportive of the principles behind the resource tax. Not for the above reasons but because the resources are Australian's and once gone are gone for ever. The (whole) country does deserve a significant chunk of the super profits made from extracting and selling these resources.

If BHP only makes a super huge mega profit instead of an EXTRA super huge mega profit as a result then so be it...there will be no tears from me. IMO of course.
