Nope, nothing to do with reliance on renewables. SA has always had high power prices, that's why it attracted such high renewables investment first. You have the wrong cause & effect. High power prices caused SA to have more renewables & those renewables have lowered prices. Not the other way around, power prices are still high in SA due to the high price of gas.
