Here's something from left field: 1.2 million voted early BUT, according to Alan Jones postal votes need two signatures and 30% are failing this test. I have no doubt that if the election hinged on this there would be a high court challenge with some chance of this being overturned.
I'm no lawyer but there has been a yardstick applied in the past that if the elector's "intention" is clear the vote will be accepted.
And we have gone back to compulsory preference voting when it was voluntary in the past.
