Couldn't agree more. Predictions can vary according to whom you speak BUT
There is at least one climate change conference this year where countries will have to make commitments to reduce CO2 emissions. I know of one motor vehicle manufacturer (BMW?) who says all their cars are going to be battery powered in a few years time because that is the only way they can meet emission standards. So it's not a matter of what you and I want or the manufacturers want it will be legislated. So that makes for a bit more certainty.

The new agreement will be adopted in 2015, at the Paris climate conference, ... collectively, the contributions are sufficient to keep global warming below 2°
