Brent closed today at 49.85. OPEC sets the price and the traders on the commodity exchange buy and sell. There are daily estimates on production and flow, reserves etc which all affect the daily price. No one ever know which way the market will swing daily. OPEC di come put and say they were looking at stabilizing the oil price and that is why the market is stronger this week.
