I think you will find that they are actually trying to drive a stake into the US crude production. If they are able to maintain current pricing for 2020-2021 then up to 50% of US producers are expected to go belly up. Any other effects are collateral damage. Short term pain for long term gain. Now to see what Trump does to prevent this or at least lesson the outcome.
