Something like 140,000,000 US citizens would be legally entitled to throw their hats into an the election ring. They are over 35 years of age and not foreign born.
There must be many thousands of brilliant potential candidates out there but the "swamp" seems uncapable of endorsing them. This is where change needs to happen. Both the Democrats and the Republicans need to heed some very sobering lessons from the current chaos and buffoonery.
Events often have to reach rock bottom before there is any impetus for change and improvement. This is our sad reality. In the meantime there are plenty of flies who like nothing better than to stick to the warmed up s^&t.
