yes - that seemed a bit low - however it was xmas eve, and watso picked up 3 barbecued chooks from woolies at the end of the day, for $5 each. they probably cooked a lot during the day, and still had a lot left over.
however, a couple of weeks ago, watso paid $5.99 for a few marinated and stuffed chooks - they weighed about 1.7kg each. they cooked brilliantly in the slow cooker and added taste to the spuds , pumpkin and carrots - and the meat just fell off the bones.
the local iga store must get some production over runs - as they often seem to have a good special for some chicken, which only lasts a few days - and is not advertised
