this is unbelievable .. it is more than obvious that most posters on hc are totally irrational .. and the anti trumpers seem to be gloating that some of trump's properties will be seized .. (trust watso - this will not happen . but if it does happen it will massively backfire ) ..

trump is being charged under some archaic law that should have been rescinded years ago..

HANDS UP ALL THOSE WHO HAVE NOT FIBBED ON A LOAN APPLICATION FORM !!

MMM mmm watso cannot see any hands up .. so assumes that all have fibbed ..

ok watso will give his own fib story for a loan

about 30 years ago watso mortgaged (first mortgage) his own property for a revolving line of credit .. when he found another property to buy - he paid cash for half the property .. then got a first mortgage loan (secured by the second property) to pay for the balance ..

watso fibbed on the loan application form for the second loan - which would have required details of income, assets/liabilities .. watso conveniently forgot to mention the mortgage (ie liability) that he had over his own property ..

watso's income would have met the lending requirements for each individual loan .. butt not for the totality of the two loans .. in which case, watso would have required a 2nd mortgage (at a far higher interest rate) ..

guess what .. there was no victim , but did watso commit fraud, by fibbing, and denying the bank/s the opportunity to earn a higher interest on a second mortgage ???????????

lol lol there are so many state/federal laws - that we do not know about .. but just a random thought , that there is no state law (or federal law) in west australia, that would require the government to take legal action against people who fib on their loan application form .. lol lol the courts would be clogged ..

HOW ABOUT A BIT OF COMMON SENSE !!!

If banks, or insurance companies, think they have been defrauded - let them take legal action ..

from memory and in australia - when banks were keen to lend out money - they helped loan applicants to fib on their loan application forms - .. watso cannot be bothered double checking, but seems to recall that there were some class actions against the banks .. but the government was not involved in any legal action ..

just a random thought - but perjury seems to be an offence in plenty of jurisdictions .. and in australia there would be thousands and thousands of cases every day .. perjury in the courts, and perjury in sworn affidavits .. but how often does the government get involved in perjury cases ??

getting back to watso's fib story.. 30 years ago, the bank who gave watso the second loan - they would have had to first think that "mmm watso looks like he is fibbing" and then gone down to the lands and titles office ?? and have checked for any mortgages against his own property .. these days it is all online
