If the infections are happening in peoples homes from an infected family member that doesnt realise they are infected then masks will do little as people probably not wearing masks at home.
If the infections are happening at shops like bunnings from random infected people breathing droplets on you at close distance not social distancing then masks will see dramatic drop in infections.
