igilug, you quoted, what do u think about it? or did you just use it to attack religion. certainly has a ring to it that sounds like its the definitive argument,hard to refute surely yet like most things theres shades of gray and nothing black or white about it.

what do I think? well yes religion can indeed be an "opium" to people in that it can relieve pain and suffering for some, provide solace when its needed, give meaning and a moral guidance on how to live lives. is it true or the only way, I don't know but personally I have beliefs and do get something from it(but hey im by now means a bible basher). I wont however worry if you don't nor will I belittle or think less of you because of your beliefs or lack of.
