Another factor relating to population growth and the dwindling supply of land is the concept of Councils capping population growth.
So Councils basically legislate for a maximum number of residents within a particular shire, and when that number is deemed to be reached, no further subdivision of land is permitted.
There are several Councils that already have population caps in place.
And with an increasing level of environmental awareness and responsibility, I can guarantee that numerous more Councils will impose population caps in the not too distant future as well.
