This is essentially what happened during WW2 when the Great Depression had already gutted America industrially while at the same time spending hundreds of billions on the war effort. IMO, the USA has the potential to rebuild; the only question is does it have the political will to do so? Politics & Satesmanship has been hijacked by self interested politicians and a populist press desperately trying to remain relevant in the face of disruptive social media. The USA has enjoyed almost 100 years of world dominance yet it has little to show domestically for it because up to 40% of its population are now on the breadline and its major industrial cities are in a deplorable state of decay. Industrial cities such as Detroit & Pittsburg which were once the Pillars of Industrial USA are now more like Roman Ruins.

Due to the first point -"America has been hijacked by Wall St & The Military/Intelligence conglomerate and the Presidency, over time, is merely their ad agency." This will not occur- "IMO, for the US to recover industrially it will first have to demolish some of Wall St and re-direct half of its $Trillion military & Intelligence spend into providing State Capital into Industrial re-tooling and workforce training.
