Now for some good old-fashioned foot-slogging investigation work. I was in London at the weekend, and with some time to spare I wandered into a Motor Bike Shop.

I have always stuck to 4 wheels (apart from push bikes in my youth and my investment in VMT) so was not in particularly familiar territory. It was not a big showroom, with maybe 20 or 30 bikes on view, but amongst the Vespas and such were two electric models and both were Super Soco / Vmoto. The guy running the store was very enthusiastic about the bikes and their potential, but most interesting to me was the fact that both the VMT products were sold (one was already plated-up ready for the road), and apparently they are selling as fast as they come in.

I doubt there are very big volumes yet, because this is not one of the big bike markets and I have never yet seen an E2V on the roads, but here was some solid evidence that the VMT product is getting out there in premium markets and apparently 'walking off the shelves'. With the benefit of a Government grant the on-the road price of the 'baby' machine (that I might think about buying to buzz down to the post box or buy a newspaper) is just £2,250 (AUD.4,000) with no road tax and tiny running costs.

Anyway it was interested to find, touch and feel the products, encouraging that they look good, and great to learn at first hand that they are actually selling here. Thought some of you might be interested. I might just buy one yet as I don't even need a new license to ride it !

Good to see the SP hanging-in solidly above 60c at the moment. 2000.
