Port Pirie smelter slated for major revamp to cut lead levels

Saw an article in the AFR couple of days ago and then looked it up on the web tonight.

"Nyrstar will be backed by up to $270 million in government guarantees to transform the 120-year-old smelter and secure more than 2500 jobs, and the city's future, for at least 30 years"

Port Pirie always key to Telephone Dam.

"This, coupled with the location of the Port Pirie lead smelter just 240km from Telephone Dam, makes the project of huge importance for Trafford Resource"

So whilst I dont think much is happening at Telephone Dam, its good to see there should still be a smelter around should it progress.
