    Hi TFG

It certainly seems the wheels are now in motion with the SA government pushing the go button on streamlining investment into Hydrogen and renewable energy, with South Australia’s government passing the landmark Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Bill which has passed both Houses of the South Australian Parliament:

    Bill passes state parliament

    Release date: 16/11/23

SouthAustralia’s landmark Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Bill has passed both Housesof the South Australian Parliament, paving the way for the state to capitaliseon its abundant wind and solar and underlining our status as a global cleanenergy leader.

Energy and Mining Minister Tom Koutsantoniswelcomed the passage of the Bill, thanking crossbench MLCs from SA Best and OneNation who backed the State Government’s bid to create a unique and modernlegislative framework for the renewable energy transition.

While the Bill ultimately passed with unanimousLegislative Council support, the Government was disappointed that the Greensand the Liberal Opposition joined forces to seek to delay the passage of thelegislation.

The Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act 2023 isthe nation’s first legislative framework designed to provide a coordinatedapproach to the burgeoning hydrogen and renewable energy industries.

Unprecedented global interest in investing in anddeveloping South Australian hydrogen and renewable energy requires a freshlegislative framework to maximise opportunities and streamline processes.

The new Act helps unlock the state’s pipeline ofrenewable energy projects, with a current estimated capital developmentinvestment of approximately $21 billion – which we expect to grow.

The Act streamlines the process for companieswanting to invest in large-scale hydrogen and renewable energy projects inSouth Australia, bringing issues such as land access, environmental impacts andnative title rights into a single regulatory process.

The Act also introduces the concept of releaseareas where developers and investors can compete to access some of the world’sbest wind and solar resources on government-owned land, ensuring the mostappropriate projects are selected that address the social, economic andenvironmental needs of the region and the state.

It also ensures extensive community and landholderconsultation is carried out, so that hydrogen and renewable energy projectsmeets communities’ expectations of responsible development.

The Government will continue to work withstakeholders and rights holders to establish associated regulations for the Actand to identify the release areas for competitive tender.

Interesting times ahead for the whole Braemar Region with Hawsons hopefully leading the charge. Comon JK and BG bring it!!!!!
