From my reading they don't regret the article, They stand by it. They regret some people may have misinterpreted the article.

Also no damages were awarded but the ABC agreed to pay the cost of the mediation, not anything else.

The key issue imo is that the plaintiff pulled his substantive case of defamation which means the defence(ABC and Milligan)
have no case to answer.
